The story behind PsychPal
Meet the Creators
PsychPal started with a father, a daughter, and a lot of conversations.
PsychPal wasn't created in a boardroom.
It grew from something much more personal.
We're Kayla and Jules Poiron — a daughter and dad who learned that mental wellness can affect more than the person struggling with it. It can shape relationships, conversations, and the way families understand one another.
Kayla knows what it's like to live with anxiety and depression. Jules knows what it's like to love someone who is struggling and want to understand what they're going through.
We've had the hard conversations. The awkward ones. The late-night ones. The conversations where neither of us had the perfect words.
Sometimes the hardest part isn't finding the answer. It's figuring out what you're really feeling in the first place.
That idea became PsychPal.

Why We Built PsychPal
There are thoughts we'll tell a therapist.
Thoughts we'll tell someone we love.
And then there are the thoughts we keep completely to ourselves.
- The overthinking at 1 a.m.
- The guilt that doesn't make sense.
- The "Why am I like this?" moments.
- The things that feel too small to bring up, too complicated to explain, or too personal to say out loud.
We wanted to create a place for those thoughts too.
PsychPal is a private space to slow down, put what's going on inside into words, ask the questions you might not be ready to ask someone else, and explore what may be underneath them.
Not to replace human connection.
Not to replace therapy or professional support.
But to give people another place to begin.
