Features
One place to talk, reflect and understand your patterns
PsychPal combines conversational AI, text and voice reflection, memory across sessions, private journaling, mood tracking, coping tools and trusted-person support in one Canadian mental-wellness app. It is designed for everyday self-reflection and support between appointments — not diagnosis or treatment.
AI conversations by text
Type freely with PsychPal's AI companion any time of day. It responds with reflective questions and grounding observations drawn from CBT- and DBT-informed approaches. There is no appointment, no waitlist, and no judgment.
You're lying awake at 2 a.m. replaying a difficult conversation. You open PsychPal and type it out. The AI helps you slow down and look at what's underneath the loop.
Voice reflection
Speak instead of type. PsychPal transcribes your voice and responds in kind. Voice recordings are transcribed and then discarded — only the text transcript is retained.
Driving home after a hard shift, you speak your thoughts aloud. PsychPal listens, transcribes, and responds when you're ready.
Memory across conversations
PsychPal can remember context from earlier sessions so you don't have to repeat your story every time. You control what is saved and can delete it at any time.
You mentioned a recurring conflict with a colleague last week. This week, PsychPal can pick up the thread without you re-explaining the background.
Private journal entries
Write or speak journal entries that are stored privately and encrypted. Your journal is yours — PsychPal never uses its contents for advertising.
After a therapy session, you write down what came up. Next week, you can review it before your next appointment.
Mood, wins and growth tracking
Log how you're feeling with daily check-ins. Track small wins and growth moments over time. Review patterns to notice what tends to shift your mood.
You notice your mood dips on Sunday evenings. Seeing the pattern helps you decide to build a wind-down routine.
Grounding, breathing and reframing tools
Access guided breathing exercises, grounding techniques and cognitive reframing prompts when you need to settle an anxious moment or shift perspective.
Before a difficult meeting, you run through a 4-7-8 breathing exercise in the app.
Support Circle
Keep supportive photos and voice messages from people you trust inside PsychPal. Familiar encouragement from real people in your life, available whenever you need it.
Your sister recorded a short voice message for you. On a hard day, you open Support Circle and hear her voice.
Safe Contacts and crisis-resource surfacing
PsychPal uses automated language detection to surface 988 and available Safe Contact options when a conversation may indicate serious risk. Automated detection is not guaranteed to identify every situation. PsychPal is not a crisis or emergency service.
If a message is flagged, PsychPal surfaces the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline and your configured Safe Contacts.
Therapy preparation
Use PsychPal to capture thoughts, organize questions and prepare notes before a therapy appointment. It supports your work with a professional — it does not replace it.
You jot down three things you want to bring up at Thursday's session. PsychPal helps you put them into words.
Canadian privacy and user data controls
Primary account and wellness records are stored in Canada (Montreal, ca-central-1). You can access, correct and delete your data at any time. PsychPal never sells your personal information or uses private conversations for advertising. Certain processing may occur outside Canada through named service providers — see the Privacy Policy for full details.
You want to delete your account and all associated data. You can do this directly from within the app.
iOS and Android
PsychPal is available on Apple's App Store and Google Play. Download it free and start a 7-day trial with full access — no credit card required.
What PsychPal is not
PsychPal is a self-help wellness and self-reflection tool. It is not a therapist, diagnostic tool, medical service, clinical treatment or crisis line. It does not diagnose conditions, prescribe treatment or replace professional mental-health care. If you may be in immediate danger or need urgent help, call emergency services or contact 988.
